Live Hawaiian Music on Waikiki Beach

Feel the rhythms of the island at the Kani Ka Pila Grille, home of Hawaiian music, at the OUTRIGGER Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. This poolside dining and music venues celebrates the local tradition of kanikapila (let's play music in Hawaiian) with nightly performances and bands.

Named after the backyard jam sessions of the legendary Pahinui family, masters of slack-key guitar, the venue continues this tradition. Kani Ka Pila Grille features live Hawaiian music with award-winning contemporary performers every night, from 6 - 9 pm.

    Home of Hawaiian Music

Kani Ka Pila Grille is famous for its live Hawaiian music on Waikiki Beach, featuring local artists such as Kawika Kahiapo and Bobby Moderow. The expanded venue features a large stage, open-air seating, and beautiful views.

Slack-key legend Cyril Pahinui bestowed the venue's name, which evokes the joys of backyard jam sessions and impromptu hula. The certified ocean-friendly restaurant offers a menu of fresh island cuisine and cocktails made with locally sourced spirits.

    Kawika Kahiapo

Kawika Kahiapo is known as the "master of ki ho'olu (slack key guitar) and the minster of Aloha." He's been a staple at Kani Ka Pila Grille since the beginning - and the grille logo is modeled after his guitar.

    Sean Na’auao

Sean Na'auao is best known for "Fish and Poi" - an album that won Island Contemporary Album of the Year at the Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. Sean continues performing as a guitarist, vocalist, composer, and producer.

    Maunalua

Bobby Moderow, Jr., Kahu Kaonohi, and Richard Gideon have been playing Hawaiian music together since 1993. This group has won six Na Hoku award including Group of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year and more.

    Nathan Aweau

Nathan Aweau is Contemporary Hawaiian music's most critically acclaimed male vocalist and Bass virtuoso. He's best known for being part of the popular local band, Hapa.

    Cyril Pahinui

The late Cyril Pahinui was a legend and master of Ki Ho'alu (slack key guitar). Pahinui co-founded the Kani Ka Pila Grille music concept and bestowed the venue's name.
