Connect with the magic of Fiji
Experience a Fijian Village, complete with activities like Fijian cooking demos, Fijian storytelling, a kava ceremony, artifacts display and even traditional dancing.
Guests arriving and departing are greeted with melodies of welcome and farewell songs on the beach, where they receive a traditional tekiteki (flower on the ear).
Join us in helping to preserve and protect our oceans by planting coral in our oceans. Plantings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Inquire at the front desk for more information or to sign up.
There’s a reason why Fiji was chosen as the filming location for films like Castaway. On our guided excursion with “Wilson”, you’ll visit the island of Modriki to see sites from where the movie was shot. Paid Activity.

Relax and pamper yourself with a traditional Fijian massage in the serenity of Bures “Lomani” (Fijian for “pleasure”) and “Demeni” (Fijian for “pamper”) surrounded by the tranquility of our lush tropical gardens. We also offer professional massage treatments with fragrant Fijian oils on the beach or in the privacy of your own bure.
Our formally trained masseuse will ease away tension with a mixture of traditional and aromatherapy techniques. Massages are booked through reception and due to heavy demand, you are encouraged to make your reservation early on in your stay to avoid disappointment.
Water activities
Castsaway’s tranquil blue water provides the perfect playground for kayaking. The adventurous can even kayak around the entire perimeter of the island!
Take in the beauty of Castaway’s lagoon from an above-water perspective on a paddle-board, which is complimentary to use by all guests.
Peak into the wonders of the Castaway lagoon with complimentary snorkel gear from the Activities Team. Lessons are always available at the resort pool.
Castaway Island offers two pool areas: a Quiet Zone Environment with a jacuzzi and swim-up pool bar and a family-friendly area for children to splash and enjoy pool-games.
Diving around Castaway Island is some of the best in Fiji. There are over 30 dive sites within 20 minutes assessable via a dive boat that accommodates up to 16 divers.
Castaway can cater to your secret surf addiction while keeping the non-surfers in your party happy and indulged on-island, all day. There are two surf tours to Cloudbreak Fiji and other famous Fiji surf spots.
Castaway Kids Club
Holidays with kids is easy on Castaway Island, Fiji! The Fijians’ love of children is legendary and you can be assured your children will be well cared for by your Castaway family. The free Castaway Kids Club is renowned as the place to be for fun. Supervised daily adventures and educational games with a distinctive Fijian flair run throughout the day and into the evening.
Land activities
Our activities staff are an athletic team with a healthy, competitive appetite! Dare to verse them in a game of beach volleyball and you’ll be in for loads of laughs, vigorous play and fun in the Fijian sun. Have a go or just watch on the sideline. It’s always an entertaining match.
Whether you’re an experienced yogi, or just feel like giving it a go, our morning yoga sessions are for you!
As the sun rises above the South Pacific ocean, our experienced instructor will help you add some ‘namaste’ to your day. The soft white sand is a perfect setting to relax and recharge. Why not follow your morning yoga session with a healthy breakfast from the buffet!
Our chefs love to show off their culinary skills whenever they get an opportunity and many guests are eager to learn the secret ingredients which are used to create our traditional dishes such as Kokoda.
Everyone is welcome to attend. When on island check the daily schedule blackboard out front of the Resort Shop or with the activities team for more.
For those of you who can only stand so much relaxation and lazing around, Castaway has a championship sized tennis court hidden amongst its lush gardens. Racquets and balls are provided for free.
Keep fit with a walk or run to the top of the mountain or a walk around the island at low tide. Correct footwear, hat, sunscreen and fresh water is essential and you are required to check in and out with the front desk so we know where you are. See our Front Desk for safety guidelines.
Castaway has a great little boutique stocked with all of your holiday essentials, island fashion, books, jewelry, souvenirs and more. Just in case you need a little retail therapy.
Items can be charged to your room, so guests only need worry about payment at the end of their stay.
