Carve a Pineapple Jack-o-Lantern for Halloween
Per usual, we’re putting a tropical twist on one of our favorite Fall traditions and trading in our pumpkins for pineapples.
-
Pick out a firm, not-too-ripened pineapple from your favorite local grocery (the bigger, the easier)
-
Slice off the crown of the pineapple by cutting in at about half an inch below the top
-
Use a pineapple corer to hollow out your pineapple (if you don’t have a corer onhand, cut around the edges then scoop out the middle with a sturdy spoon)
-
Be gentle to cut out a face or spooky shapes of choice on the front of your pineapple
-
Place a light or flameless candle inside your new pineapple jack-o-lantern
-
Return crown to top of pineapple
Congratulations! Your DIY Halloween decoration is sure to be a neighborhood favorite.
Pro tip: Save the insides of your pineapple for the freezer. You can blend those up later with ice cream for a creamy delight! More exciting recipes here.
