Founded in 1904, the Waikiki Aquarium is the second oldest public aquarium in the country. Built along the scenic Honolulu shoreline, overlooking a living coral reef, the aquarium invites visitors to explore its stunning native gardens and wander through exhibits that are home to over 3,500 different marine animals, fish and invertebrates. The Waikiki Aquarium is divided into 13 different display areas, each with several exhibits highlighting different animals and habitats, including sea dragons, giant clams, octopus, and jelly fish. The aquarium also offers a multitude of public programs and family friendly classes that offer hands-on fun while furthering its mission to inspire and promote understanding, appreciation and conservation of Pacific marine life.
